In 1985, our President and founder, J. Sam Ellis (Sam), started as an electrical contractor doing business as 7-Electric in Garner, NC. As 7-Electric grew, so did opportunities to provide additional services. These services included industrial machine moving and placement. This led Mr. Ellis to purchase a forklift and rollback truck. Customer demand for our high-quality services resulted in the rapid growth of our company. During this time (1992 to 2004) Mr. Ellis also served his community with a 12 year stay in the N.C. House of Representatives. In 2005, it was decided that the moving and transportation side of 7-Electric could better serve our customers as a separate corporation. At that time, 7-Electric was incorporated and Ellis Transportation Solutions, Inc. was formed.

Ellis Transportation Solutions, Inc. and 7-Electric, inc. are family-owned and operated businesses.

Sam and his wife, Cindy, were blessed with 3 sons, Jason, Joshua, and Joseph. Growing up, all 3 sons worked with the family businesses. Today Joshua is our Operations Manager and Jason conducts our outside sales. Both are still active in both management and field operations.
